Nobody can forget when Manchester City dared to attempt to sign a Manchester United player. Nobody thought it would happen, but Carlos Tevez made the move. Now, Manchester City are looking towards their city rivals once more.
Reports in Spanish newspaper, Sport, claim that Manchester City’s incoming manager, Pep Guardiola would like to bring his former Barcelona goalkeeper, and Manchester United outcast, Victor Valdes to to Etihad.
It is thought that Valdes has maintained a close relationship with former coach Guardiola, so much so, that the Catalans could be reunited at the Etihad next season. Valdes also has a good relationship with Man City technical director, Txiki Begiristan, who also was at Barcelona.
Valdes, 34, is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, and is currently out on loan at Belgian club, Standard Liege. The Spanish goalkeeper made just 2 appearances for Manchester United, keeping 1 clean sheet in the last game of the 2014/15 season.
