Manchester City have confirmed that Josep Guardiola will take charge of the club starting from next season, and the hierarchy at the Etihad are clearly trying to tie down their best stars. According to the Sun, City are planning to extend Sergio Aguero’s contract before next season begins – tying him down to another long-term deal.
The Argentine is without doubt the best striker in the league on his day, but the problem is that he is often injured. Now at 27, Aguero could be seeking one final pay day, and he and his agent could force a move away from City if he so chooses.
With the new TV deal coming to the Premier League in the summer, there is no doubting that City will have the financial power to compete with clubs like Real Madrid, but theres not a lot they’ll be able to do if he wants to move away.
