Manchester City are in ‘very advanced’ negotiations in the race to sign Brazilian starlet Gabriel Jesus, according to the players agent.
As reported a few days ago, Pep Guardiola’s side have taken the lead in the race to sign the Palmeiras wonderkid, despite interest from Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester United.
City have bid around €35million for the 19-year old, and the player is discussing personal terms with the club which has been confirmed by his agent Cristiano Soames:
I can say that we are defining certain contractual aspects. We’re negotiating these.
We are very advanced with Manchester City. We’ll see.
Meanwhile, Globo Esportivo in Brazil claim that Manchester United will make a last gasp bid of €38million to try and secure the Brazilians signature.
Gabriel Jesus is currently training with the national squad ahead of the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
