Manchester City have made contact with Barcelona regarding the potential signings Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto according to reports in Spain.
Radio station Onda Cera claim that Manchester City have approached the Catalan club regarding the availability of Busquets. City were interested in signing the 29-year-old last summer, and looked to have rekindled their interest this summer. Pep Guardiola has a vacancy in his squad for a holding midfielder following the departure of Fernando, who left the club this week to join Galatasaray.
However, after losing Neymar to PSG, Barcelona are reluctant to sell another one of their stars. He has a €150m release clause in his contract.
Meanwhile, Diario Gol claim that Guardiola is also ready to rival Manchester United and Chelsea in their interest in Busquets’ team mate Sergi Roberto.
Roberto, whose release clause is €40m, is reportedly seeking guarantees from new Barca boss Ernesto Valverde regarding his future play time. The 25-year-old can play in either central midfield or at right back.
Barcelona are however thought to be relaxed about the future of both of their stars.
