Manchester United and Liverpool target Timo Werner has ruled out a transfer to the Premier League this summer.
The 22-year-old has been in exceptional form for the last two seasons for RB Leipzig, and is set to lead the line for Germany at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.
He has scored 37 goals in 66 appearances for the Bundesliga club since moving from Stuttgart in 2016.
That form has seen him linked with a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Man Utd both thought to be interested, although he has admitted recently that he grew up supporting United due to their success in the the early 90’s.
Werner is currently under contract with the German club until 2022, and despite refusing to commit his future to the club for the entirety of that contact, he has now revealed that he will not be leaving this summer. When asked if he will see out his deal with Leipzig, he said:
“Next year, definitely, I will stay in Leipzig.”
