Manchester United are being heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
According to reports in the Manchester Evening News Jose Mourinho is a big fan of the Croatia international, and the player himself is rumoured to be open to the possibility of swapping the Bernabeu for Old Trafford this summer.
The 23-year-old moved to Real in 2015 from Serie A side Inter Milan in a £25 million pound move. However, he has struggled to nail down a regular starting position for Los Blancos during his time in the Spanish capital, mostly due to the form of words class duo Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
Kovacic is a classy central midfield operator renowned for his play making abilities and dynamism.
With United manager Mourinho having stated this week that he is happy with the attacking options at his disposable, and his desire to strengthen in midfield during the summer, combined with Real being prepared to listen to offers for their talented youngster, this is a move that may well suit all parties.
