Manchester United are becoming increasingly concerned by the mental state of their two highest paid players Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba.
According to reports in the Telegraph the Old Trafford club are starting to worry that Jose Mourinho has a major battle on his hands to try and rejuvenate his star pair.
Sanchez has failed to replicate the form he showed at the Emirates, scoring just once in ten appearances for his new club. The Chile international has admitted that he has found life difficult since his move from Arsenal in January, with reports this week suggesting he is cutting a sullen and isolated figure at United’s Carrington training ground.
Pogba, who rejoined the club in a then world record deal from Juventus in the summer of 2016, has also looked devoid of confidence in recent weeks and is said to have been delighted to have been able to get away from Manchester and join up with his international team-mates on France duty this week.
Both players were unused substitutes in United’s 2-0 FA Cup quarter-final victory over Brighton last weekend.
Jose Mourinho has also been criticised for his players struggles with many believing his defensive tactical approach is stopping his sides attacking players from fully expressing themselves.
