Man City to sell two players to sign Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez

Manchester City will sell two players this summer in order to make space for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.

The Daily Express claim that Pep Guardiola will look to offload Kelechi Iheanacho and Nolito before making a big money move for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez.

Young Nigerian striker Iheanacho has been linked with a move to West Ham and Everton after falling down the pecking order following the arrival Gabriel Jesus. He was regarded as one of the hottest prospects in the Premier League last season under Manuel Pellegrini. But since the arrival of Pep Guardiola, and latterly £33m Jesus, Iheanacho has found his opportunities limited. He has scored 21 goals in 63 appearances for the club, making 20 starts.

Also being linked with a move away from the Etihad is Spanish forward Nolito. He has been linked with a cut price move back to La Liga, with Real Betis believed to be close to agreeing a deal. He moved to Manchester from Celta Vigo for £13.8m last summer but since the turn of the year, has only made one start from the citizens.

The sale of these two players would make room and free up funds to make a move for Arsenal contract rebel Alexis Sanchez. Sanchez has just over one-year remaining at the Emirates and has so far not agreed a new deal. He reportedly wants to join a bigger club with more chances of winning trophies, and has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Pep Guardiola is also keen on signing the Chilean, who would be worth around £50 million, or for free in 12 months.
