Louis van Gaal ‘on the brink’ of quitting out on Manchester United

Manchester United were once again on the wrong end of a shocking result this weekend, with Louis van Gaal’s side losing 1-0, thanks to a debut goal from Charlie Austin of Southampton. After the result, the fans were once again getting on the Dutchman’s back, and calling for him to be sacked.

However, if the latest reports coming out of The Sun are to be believed, the Iron Tulip is preparing to walk away from Old Trafford on his own accord.

“I’m very disappointed that I cannot reach the expectations of the fans.” Louis van Gaal began.

“They have — or they had — great expectations of me and I cannot fulfil them. So I am very frustrated because of that.”

This certainly sounds like the writing is on the wall for Louis van Gaal if these quotes turn out to be true, and it feels like he has given up already, which would be a huge relief for the Manchester United fans who have been calling for his head since before the new year.
