Louis van Gaal confirms Ashley Young sidelined for 4-6 weeks

Manchester United will be without the services of their excellent makeshift wing-back, Ashley Young. Louis van Gaal confirmed the hamstring injury he picked up away at Stoke on New Years Day will keep him out of action for at least four weeks, and possibly as long as six, which is a huge blow.

Young had been in scintillating form before his injury, doing his duties defensively as well as delivering superb whipped balls into the box that Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao had fed off.

This will provide Luke Shaw with an opportunity to stake his claim for a spot in the first-team for good, and we all know how talented the young left-back is. Hopefully he can stay injury-free and prove to the fans just why Manchester United forked out close to £30million to bring him in.
