Match Detail

  • Liverpool v Everton
  • Anfield
  • Premier League
  • Sunday 10th December
  • Kick off: 14:15 GMT
  • Live on Sky Sports Premier League

Weather, or not?

There has been speculation in recent days that the game was under threat of being postponed, with the North West of England having being braced for heavy snow on the morning of the game. However despite the forecast predicting up to eight inches (20.3cm) of snow could fall, early indications from the region are positive – with little or no snow falling over night.

If a large amount of snow does eventually fall between now and kick off, the Anfield pitch would of course be able to cope thanks to the technology available, but whether the areas surrounding the stadium would be safe for spectators would depend on the ability to clear it away.

Form

Both teams enter into the game in good form with Liverpool unbeaten in their last nine games, including the 7-0 Champions League win in midweek.

Everton have also picked up form over the last 10 days, winning three games during that time, including a 4-0 thumping of West Ham, a 2-0 win over Huddersfield and the 3-0 defeat of Appelon Limassol in the Europa League.

Team News

Alberto Moreno is missing for the hosts after he picked up a knock in the midweek thrashing of Spartak Moscow.

Meanwhile, the visitors are still without Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman, Yannick Bolasie, Ross Barkley and Ramiro Funes Mori. However, Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka return to bolster Big Sam’s defence as he looks to get his Everton side to beat Liverpool at Anfield for the first time this millennium, with the last win coming in 1999.

Predicted Lineups

Liverpool: Mignolet, Gomez, Lovren, Klaven, Milner, Wijnaldum, Can, Coutinho, Salah, Firmino, Mane

Everton: Pickford, Holgate, Williams, Jagielka, Kenny, Schneiderlin, Gueye, Martina, Rooney, Sigurdsson, Calvert-Lewin

Match Prediction

The Reds are in red hot form while the Toffees have been singing the blues all season. However, Allardyce won at Anfield last season and could make himself an instant hero by doing the same for Everton.

However, Liverpool are hard to stop and it could be an intriguing game of wits

Liverpool 1-1 Everton
