Liverpool are set to approach QPR over a potential loan move for central defender, Steven Caulker. Caulker, who is currently on loan at Southampton, has struggled for game time at St Mary’s and is seen as ideal cover for Liverpools lengthy injury list, according to reports in The Guardian.
The 24 year old began his career at Tottenham, before moving on to Cardiff and QPR. He is now on loan at Southampton but hasn’t featured since Liverpools 6-1 victory over Southampton back at the beginning of December.
Liverpool meanwhile have lost Martin Skrtl, Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure in recent weeks to injury, although the latter 2 are expected to return for Wednesday nights game against Arsenal. Jürgen Klopp is keen to add more defensive cover with Caulkers addition.
It is hoped that the deal can be completed today so that Caulker can play in tomorrows game.
