Liverpool and Arsenal open negotiations with Real Madrid star

Premier League rivals Liverpool and Arsenal have been given permission to open talks with Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to reports in the Daily Star.

The 22-year-old was voted player of the tournament as Spain won the recent U21 European Championships, and has been compared to Xabi Alonso by many in his home land.

Real snapped the talented youngster up last summer from his boyhood club Real Betis, although he has grown unsettled at the Bernabeu and is keen to move elsewhere.

Liverpool and Arsenal will both be allowed to pursue a permanent deal for Ceballos in January, and the team that can offer him the best chance of regular first-team football will more than likely secure his signature.
