Liverpool have accepted a bid from Lazio for midfielder Lucas Leiva.
The Brazilian is Liverpool’s longest serving player, spending 10 years at the club, having joined from Gremio back in 2007.
The player has been withdrawn from the Liverpool squad that will play Wigan tonight in a pre-season friendly in order to discuss personal terms with the Italian club.
During his 10 years at Anfield, the 30-year-old has made 344 appearances, scoring seven goals.
He was close to leaving the club back in January, when fellow Italian club Inter Milan were believed to be interested, but a move to the San Siro never materialised. However, it looks as though long association with the Merseyside club may finally be about to come to an end.
The bid from Lazio is believed to around £5million.
