Liverpool accept £32million Benteke bid

Crystal Palace have had a £32million bid accepted by Liverpool for striker Christian Benteke.

The bid comprises of an initial payment of £27million, plus a further £5million in addons, which is a significant improvement on the bid they made earlier in the week which was rejected by Liverpool.

Alan Pardews men originally offered a £23million up front payment, plus a further £7million in addons, which Liverpool deemed as almost umatainable.

However the latest offer has now been accepted, giving them a realistic opportunity to recoup the majority of the £32.5million transfer fee that Liverpool themselves paid Aston Villa for Benteke’s services just twelve months ago.

Benteke will now head to Selhurst Park to finalise personal terms ahead of the transfers completion.
