Arsenal have been linked with making a move for a trio of Leicester City’s star players after they helped their club to the Premier League title, and now one of their targets has spoken out ahead of a potential move.
Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez lit up the Premier League last season with a string of dazzling performances, where he was directly involved in 28 of the clubs goals, scoring 17 and assisting 11.
Leicester won the league, whilst Vardy won the Player of the Year award, and now he has spoken ahead of speculation he could leave the club this summer.
It is flattering to hear, as I said nothing is agreed, nothing is done.
We will see. For the moment I have not made a decision. We will see. It is possible that I stay, it is possible that I leave. We will see.
The season went very well. As you know, we have won the league which was very important. It is incredible.
It was by far my best season in my career. I am not putting pressure on myself (for next season). It will be a season about confirming (my ability).
Without pressure, I will have to work hard… Leicester is a family club. I would like to stay. I am very happy.
Mahrez is the third Leicester player to be linked with a move to Arsenal. Jamie Vardy is mulling over a £20million move, whilst Arsene Wenger confirmed last week that N’Golo Kante is a player that he admired.
