Klopp admits anger at fixture schedule after UCL draw

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has once again called on the Premier League to adjust their fixture scheduling to benefit teams playing in Europe.

The German coaches side are due to play Manchester City in a mouthwatering all English Champions League quarter-final, with the games due to be played on the 4th and 10th of April.

However, Klopp is fuming that his team will have to face Everton in the Merseyside derby on the Saturday morning in between their fixtures against Pep Gaurdiola’s men.

“There will be a point where I’m looking forward to that game. But I’m already angry as the Everton game has been moved to 12.30 on Saturday.

“Now it’s City on Wednesday night and Everton on Saturday morning. I only heard it a second ago. Not too cool.

“We play at 7.45 on Wednesday night and 12.45 on Saturday. The other team plays at 5.30. Can you imagine how big the difference is? It means the world.

“Put the Everton game on at a normal time – not at breakfast.

“I know countries where they cancel fixtures ahead of the Champions League.”

“Whoever made the schedule and had us playing on the Sunday thought Liverpool weren’t going through.

“Then oops, Liverpool are through.” Klopp said.
