Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere are close to signing new contracts according to reports.
The duo are out of contract in the summer and are free to talk to foreign clubs as well as sign a pre contract agreement ahead of a free transfer in the summer.
Wilshere hadn’t been offered a new deal until recently due to his well publicised issues with injuries, but the England midfielder has returned to fitness and form in the last month prompting a new deal to be offered.
Meanwhile, Mesut Ozil has long been in a contract dispute with the Gunners, and reportedly wants to double his £150,000-a-week salary. He had been linked with a move to Manchester United in recent weeks, while Besiktas and Barcelona have also been linked.
However, in what will turn out to be wonderful news for Arsenal fans, The Sun are reporting that the duo are in fact close to agreeing a new deal to keep them at club.
When asked if Ozil will stay at the Emirates in February, Wenger said: “Yes, of course.”
