Juventus close in on Paul Pogba replacement

Just uover two weeks have passed since Manchester United announced the World Record signing of Paul Pogba, and now, Juventus are closing in on a deal to sign his replacement.

Juventus have already splashed the cash this summer, signing Gonazalo Higuain from Napoli in a £75million transfer, whilst also poaching Miralem Pjanic from Serie A rivals Roma amongst a number of other big name arrivals at the club this summer.

However, according to reports in Italy, Juventus are now closing in on the signing of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Blaise Matuidi.

Matuidi was Pogba’s midfield partner during this summer’s European Championships in France where it was Matuidi who probably caught the eye more than the now most expensive player in history.

It is claimed that Matuidi will move to the Italian champions for €25million, just a quarter of the €100million fee that saw Pogba leave the club earlier this month.

However PSG chairman has claimed that he expects the midfielder to stay at the club.
