Huge boost for Everton as agent admits Lukaku could stay

Everton have been given a big boost as Romelu Lukaku’s agent has admitted that the Belgian striker could sensationally stay at Goodison Park next season.

The striker has been linked with several of Europe’s elite clubs, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Juventus and Bayern Munich, with a a Goodison Park exit thought to have been inevitable.

Earlier this year, the striker admitted he wanted to leave the club this summer to move to a club that can offer Champions League football and win trophies. However, since then, Everton have been taken over by billionaire investor Farhad Moshiri, who has promised significant investment in the club, leading to a possible U-turn from the 23-year old.

His agent told SportWereld in Belgium:

Everton don’t need money anymore. Romelu wants to play for a club that can win trophies.

Something’s changed at Everton: there’s a new project. If he leaves, it has to be a good deal for all parties involved.

Whether he stays or not is still up in the air, and a bid of £65million might tempt Everton to sell, however the softening of his stance will be news to Evertonians ears.
