Pep Guardiola has today confirmed that he intends to manage in the English Premier League next season, following his impending departure from Bayern Munich.
Guardiola has been heavily linked to the Premier League in recent weeks since he announced his decision to quit the German champions at the end of the season. Manchester City have been linked strongest to the Catalan, but Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked following their on pitch struggles this season.
In a press conference today, Guardiola said;
I want to experience a new city and I want to work in England, I have several offers from England but I haven’t signed anything yet.
I have an opportunity to work in England. I think I’m at the right age and I feel it is the right move for me. That is the reason I have taken this decision.
These comments will of course increase the speculation around Manuel Pellegrini and Louis van Gaals futures, as well as Guus Hiddink, who has just taken the interim managers role at Chelsea.
Manchester City are still the bookmakers favourite to be the former Barcelona midfielders next club, but time will tell.
