Pep Guardiola has hinted that he could be ready to delve into the transfer market after yet another key injury to his squad.
The Catalan manager had already been rocked by injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Benjamin Mendy, and was dealt a further blow on Sunday after stand-in left back Fabian Delph had to be replaced during City’s 4-3 defeat to Liverpool.
Guardiola confirmed that the former Aston Villa midfielder suffered a knee injury and could be ‘out for for a while’.
“He will be out, I think, for a while.
“I don’t know if it will be a lot of time but he will be out for a while. It is his knee, he turned his knee.”
He also hinted that he could have to delve into the transfer market in order to continue to fight on all four trophy fronts:
“We have the squad we have. I don’t know what will happen in this transfer window and you have to finish with the players we have to finish.
“If you can buy someone because we have four competitions, a lot of games, we are going to try.”
