Gareth Bale to Chelsea or Man Utd?

Gareth Bale is reportedly open to Chelsea or Manchester United this summer according to reports.

Spanish publication Don Balon claims that the former Tottenham Hotspur star is open to a move back to the Premier League after growing frustrated at Real Madrid.

The 27-year old moved to Madrid back in 2013 for a then World Record fee of £86million. During his time with Los Blancos, Bale has won the Copa del Rey, two Champions League winners medals, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA World Club Cup, and is looking to winning his first La Liga winners medal this season.

However, despite a successful spell in Spain, the Welshman has had a difficult campaign this season. A series of ankle and calf injuries have restricted the winger to just 26 appearances this season.

Real Madrid to cash in?

Reports in Spain recently have suggested that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has grown frustrated with the club’s star assets lack of game time, something which could prompt him to cash in on Bale.

The article claims that Bale is also fearing that his time in La Liga is coming to an end, and has told his agent he is open to a move. Preferably he would like to move back to the Premier League, to either Manchester United or Chelsea.

Manchester United have been linked with signing Bale almost every year since his Tottenham days, and they could be set to rekindle their interest.

However, Bale has also instructed his agent to sound out some of the games biggest clubs, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain – the only ones who could realistically afford to pay his salary.

Should Bale leave Real Madrid? Where would he be best suited? Man Utd, Chelsea, PSG or Bayern Munich? Leave us a comment below.

I suspect that Bale was never fully settled after Benetiz departed. He was asking for a more central role. That issue is still unresolved. Perez will be wanting to quickly establish a player to inherit Ronaldo’s status. The only player up to that standard is Neymar. Bale is a unique talent but lets himself down with questionable choices. Rushing back to play for Wales in the hope of keeping their WC dreams alive is one of them. The fallout from that could cost him his career at Real Madrid. Even in Bale’s first 90 mins back playing for Real he looked like he had rolled his ankle in the last 15 mins. He clearly pulled up in pain. That was a warning bell that went unheeded.

He is not going to leave Real Madrid. He just signed a contract extension this year for 5 years.
