Former Chelsea star set for Inter Milan move

Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires looks set to complete a January move to Inter Milan according to reports in Italy.

According to Gazetta dello Sport, the Nerrazurri have agreed a deal to take Ramires on loan from Chinese Super League club, Jiangsu Suning.

However, the deal is not yet a forgone conclusion, as the Serie A club continue to assess their options. They only have one slot left in their squad for non EU nationals, and they are determined to get the best possible player, with Ramires just one of a number of options.

The Brazilian moved to China back in January 2016 in a surprise £25m move from Chelsea. The move set a new Chinese transfer record, but that record only stood for ten days, after fellow South American’s Alex Teixeira and Jackson Martinez also made shock moves to the Far East.

Inter Milan have made an impressive start to the 2017/18 campaign, winning seven of their opening eight games, sitting ahead of current champions Juventus in second place, just two points behind Serie A leaders Napoli.
