He is spoken about as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and he often defies belief with some of the saves he makes. There have been many wonderful saves, but here are five of the best saves by David de Gea.

v Juan Mata

They may have ended up as team mates, but David de Gea frustrated former Chelsea star Juan Mata. The Spaniard struck a sumptuous free kick, only to be thwarted by the United stopper.

 

v Bryan Oviedo

In a fantastic an pulsating game at Old Trafford, Everton put Manchester United under some immense pressure at the end of the game. After already making one save, the ball fell to Bryan Oviedo, leaving the Spaniard to full off this absolutely phenomenal save.

 

 

v Philippe Coutinho

In a what turned out to be a stale 0-0 draw at Anfield, de Gea was the hero for Manchester United once again, saving this goal bound strike from Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho.

v Luis Suarez

In another game against Liverpool, de Gea was the hero again. An in form Luis Suarez was clear through on goal with only de Gea to beat. Despite the watching world expecting the Uruguayan to find the net again, David de Gea had other ideas.

 

 

v Jese

Manchester United dropped their first points of the 2017/18 season in their away fixture to Stoke, drawing 2-2. However it could have been much worse if De Gea hadn’t pulled off this incredible reaction save from Jese.
