Everton are planning to offer Romelu Lukaku a new contract at Goodison Park as they look to keep the striker at the club and out of the clutches of Chelsea.
Chelsea are keen on re-signing the Belgian, who left the club in 2014, with Everton paying £28million for the strikers services. Fast forward two years and the West London club are keen on bringing back their former striker, but will be forced to pay far more than they gained from his sale.
Everton have so far demanded £75million for the striker, whilst Chelsea are thought to have offered around £65million for the 23-year old.
Despite slapping the huge price tag on the strikers head, Everton are determined to keep a hold of their star man, and have offered him a new deal in a last ditch attempt to keep the hitman at the Merseyside club. It’s believed they have offered the striker a new £135,000-a-week contract, but it is unsure whether the Belgian is willing to accept it.
Lukaku is keen on returning to Stamford Bridge this summer to work under new boss Antonio Conte, feeling that he has “unfinished business” at the club that he initially joined in 2011.
