Chelsea have been actively pursuing Everton’s John Stones throughout the transfer window, and today according to Sky Sports News, Mourinho’s men have bid £30million for the Englishman – but that move was immediately knocked back by the Everton board.
Its nice to see The Toffees standing firm on this one. If they sold Stones it would be a case of one step forward and two steps back, plus they wouldn’t have that much time to invest in an adequate replacement at this point in the window.
For Stones himself, I can see why he wants the move as it presents him with a genuine opportunity to win multiple trophies, but for the sake of his development its probably better if he does stay at Goodison Park for at least another season and gets regular playing time.
