Everton boss Ronald Koeman is close to completing a raid on his former club Southampton with a move for defender Cuco Martina.
The defender was signed by Koeman at the Saints last summer where he moved from FC Twente, and went on to make 18 appearances, scoring one goal. That goal was an absolute wonder strike in a 4-0 victory over Arsenal.
However, since Koemans departure the Curaçao international has fallen out of favour with new Saints boss Claude Puel, prompting a bargain raid from Everton, who will use the right back as cover for Seamus Coleman.
The fee to take Martina to Goodison Park is thought to be worth £1.25million and should be completed within the coming days.
