Everton are favourites to sign Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata as Billionaire owner Farhad Moshiri looks to make a marquee signing this summer for the Blues.
The World Cup winning Spanish star moved to Manchester United in January 2014 after falling out of favour with then Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. However with Mourinho’s arrival at Manchester United this summer, the 28-year old could be pushed out once again by the Portuguese.
In his two-and-a-half years at the club, Mata has slipped in and out of the United first team, never settling on a regular starting position, often being alternated between right wing and his preferred number 10 position.
Mata scored the equalising goal in Manchester United’s FA Cup victory in May, but could now be set to make the short move down the M62 to Goodison Park, where Ronald Koeman is eagerly awaiting to spend Moshiri’s millions.
It has also been claimed in Turkey that Everton have triggered the release clause in Wesley Sneijder’s Galatasaray contract.
