Everton eye up £40m midfielder

Everton are eyeing up a move for midfielder Jean Michel Seri according to reports.

The midfielder attracted attention from European heavyweights Barcelona in the summer, with a £40m move thought to have been on the cards.

However, his move to the Nou Camp fell through when the La Liga leaders suddenly pulled out of the deal. They eventually moved for former Spurs midfielder Paulinho who, despite plenty of raised eyebrows, has been in impressive form for the Catalan side.

According to reports, Everton are planning on making a move to snatch Nice midfielder Jean Michel Seri as they look to bolster their midfield. They are hoping to lure him to Goodison Park, despite the Ivory Coast international attracting attention from the Manchester City and Liverpool.

The Blues have also been linked with Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, a player who Everton boss Sam Allardyce has previously worked with at Blackburn Rovers.

Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has been linked with a move away from the club, while Ross Barkley completed a £15m move to Chelsea on Friday.
