Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund are being heavily linked with a move for Manchester United whizzkid Andre Gomes, according to reports in The Sun.
The 17-year-old has long been hailed as the most exciting young player coming through the ranks at Old Trafford, but he is now stalling on a new deal and the club are worried they will lose him.
Gomes is a attacking midfielder and was one of the star performers during England’s U17 World Cup triumph in India recently. He won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player Of The Year at his club last season, and in May he made his Premier League debut when came on as a substitute for Wayne Rooney against Crystal Palace.
Although the prodigiously talented attacker is highly rated by everybody at Old Trafford and the club desperately want to keep him, Dortmund are said to be confident they can prise him away from United with the promise of a clear path to first-team football.
The German side have a reputation for spotting and nurturing some of the most talented young players in the world, and recently signed Gomes’ friend and Under 17 team-mate Jandon Sancho from Manchester City.
