West Ham United have completed the signing of Manchester United striker Ashley Fletcher.
The striker spent the majority of last season on loan at League One club Barnsley, helping guide them to promotion to the Championship as well as the Johnstones Paint Final.
His time at Oakwell will have been tinged with a hint of jealousy, watching Marcus Rashford make himself a household name at Old Trafford in the absence of other options.
Rashford went on to be called up for the England squad whilst 21-year old Fletcher watched on from the third tier of English football.
Fletcher told the West Ham website:
I am very excited to be here. West Ham are a massive club and I am just happy that I can come and further my development here at West Ham.
I think it is a Club with a lot of ambition. They have a lot of good players and it was a special final season. They managed to finish the campaign very well.
West Ham are a Club built on traditions of giving youngsters a run and hopefully I can get my chance as well.
He moves to West Ham on a four-year contract after his Manchester United contract expired.
