Stoke City have completed the £13million signing of Liverpool midfielder Joe Allen.
After not making any signings to date in the summer window, the former Swansea City midfielder became the second arrival of the day after Egyptian youngster Ramadan Sobhi arrived at the bet365 stadium earlier today.
Allen, who was heavily involved in Wales’ run to the Euro 2016 semi-finals, has signed a five-year deal at the club following the £13million transfer.
Upon signing for the Potters, he said:
It’s been a whirlwind 48 hours for me but I am delighted to have finally been able to put pen to paper.
I was really excited as soon as I heard of the club’s interest and it wasn’t a difficult decision for me to make.
I am incredibly excited about my future at Stoke City.
His former club Swansea, as well as Spanish club Sevilla both registered an interest in signing the 26-year old, but were beaten to his signature by Stoke, who were able to secure a deal with Liverpool for the midfielder.
