DONE DEAL: Olivier Giroud completes Chelsea move

After Arsenal announced the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang earlier on today, part two of this transfer triology has now been completed, with Chelsea completing thesigning of Olivier Giroud.

Chelsea have finally bolstered their forward line, having being linked with a number of strikers in the last two weeks. Names such as Andy Carroll, Peter Crouch and Ashley Barnes were linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, before the Blues made a move for former Man City striker Edin Dzeko.

Dzeko wanted a two-and-a-half year deal at Chelsea, who were only willing to offer an 18 month contract in line with their strict regulations for over 30-year-olds.

Chelsea since turned their attentions to Giroud, who has made the move from North to West London on an 18-month contract, with an option for a further year.

It is believed that the deal is worth around £18m.

Giroud was heavily linked with a move to Everton in the summer, but despite the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette, he decided to stay and fight for his place at the Emirates. He has now however decided to move to Chelsea having started just one Premier League game this season, making a further 15 appearances from the bench.

Borussia Dortmund have also confirmed that they have completed the signing of Michy Batshuayi on loan until the end of the season.
