Newcastle United today confirmed the signing of Ivory Coast striker, Seydou Doumbia on a loan deal until the end of the season from Italian club, Roma.
We reported to you yesterday that Doumbia, 28, had travelled to Newcastle to complete a medical and agree personal terms, and now the deal has been finalised.
I’m delighted to be a Newcastle United player, I’ve already started to prepare. I’ve arrived and I’m ready to go.
It has always been a dream to play in the Premier League and now that dream has come true, so I’m absolutely delighted. I am looking forward to helping the club get some wins and climb the table.
Newcastle have been struggling for goals all season, and the addition of an International quality striker will hopefully solve this problem as they look to steer clear of relegation. The Magpies are also keen on West Brom striker Saido Berahino but the Baggies are reluctant to sell.
