Newcastle United have completed their second signing within 24 hours, capturing Swansea City and England midfielder in a £12m deal.
The midfielder has signed a five-and-a-half year deal at St James Park. The deal to take Shelvey to Newcastle was completed in relatively quick time, but will not be eligible for this evenings game against Manchester United.

Newcastle becomes Shelvey’s fourth club of his career following spells at Charlton, Liverpool and Swansea City. He had made his way into the England side in recent years, but has struggled to get in Swansea’s starting eleven recently after new manager Alan Curtis questioned Shelvey’s attitude.
