Last summer Manchester United broke their transfer record to lure Angel di Maria to Old Trafford for a fee in the region of £60million, and less than twelve months down the line the club have confirmed the sale of the 27-year old Argentine, for £44million – £15million less than they paid for his services.
The move looked inevitable over the last few weeks as Angel di Maria expressed his unhappiness in Manchester, and now he has finally got his way.
There is no point in United keeping an unhappy player at the club, but it is quite upsetting to see the way in which he has left. He clearly couldn’t care less about the fans who supported him all season-long, and he has bottled out of the physicality of the Premier League at the first possible chance.
