DONE DEAL: Liverpool confirm defender capture

Liverpool have confirmed the signing of FC Augsburg defender Ragnar Klavan for a reported fee of £4.2million.

The Estonian defender moves to Anfield on a “long-term deal” as a replacement for Martin Skrtl who completed a move to Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce.

He has made 112 appearances for his country and has spent the last four years with Bundesliga club Augsberg, where he scored 4 goals in 125 appearances.

He will be no stranger to playing at Anfield, when he played against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in last seasons Europa League.

He will wear the number 17 shirt at Liverpool.
