Done Deal: Leeds United snap-up Vurnon Anita

Yesterday Leeds United confirmed the signing of midfielder Vurnon Anita on a free transfer.

Championship side Leeds United officially confirmed the signing of Vurnon Anita on a free, following his release from champions Newcastle United. Additionally it was also reported that Anita signed a three-year deal with the Yorkshire club.

After five years at Newcastle United, Anita was released by the club at the end of last season, upon the expiry of his contract.

During his five year tenure in the north-east, Anita was a prominent feature in the Newcastle side. Anita would make 155 appearances for Newcastle over the span of five years. Furthermore he would also play a part in the club winning the Championship last season.

The former Dutch international has already proven to be a solid defensive midfielder. As for Leeds they have snapped up a real bargain here, as the club look to re-galvanize their challenge for promotion.

Leeds United fans: Are you pleased with this signing? What can Vurnon Anita bring to your side? Let us know your thoughts.
