Chelsea have completed the signing of Everton and England midfield Ross Barkley.
The midfielder moves to Stamford Bridge after agreeing personal terms and passing a medical on Friday.
Barkley was close to joining the Premier League Champions back in the summer, but pulled out of the deal at the eleventh hour, reportedly during his medical, although the player later denied that.
He has yet to make an appearance this season due to a long term injury but has recently returned to training.
Speaking today, Barkley said:
‘I’m overwhelmed, I’m looking forward to it and I’m really excited to get started.
‘To be given a fresh start at a new club like Chelsea, it’s unbelievable for me. I’m looking forward to continuing where I left off at the end of last season and hoping to improve and add more goals to my game.’
The deal is believed to be worth in the region of £15m.
