Manchester City’s star midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has had his say on the deal that saw Alexis Sanchez snub a move to the Etihad and move to his clubs bitter rivals Man United instead.
“It doesn’t matter, we will still do what we need to do, with or without him.
“He chose United. Okay, there are a lot of good players. If they want to come, they want to come, and otherwise we will do it with our team.”
De Bruyne obviously does not seem overly concerned by Sanchez’s decision not to join up with him and his table topping team-mates.
The 26-year-old has been in sensational form this season himself and is widely expected to be named Premier League Player of the year at the end of this campaign.
De Bruyne has netted six goals and provided 10 assists so far this term, and his world-class attacking midfield displays were rewarded by City this week when they handed him a new mega-money contract that will see him stay at the Etihad until 2023.
With their continued investment in top class players and Antonio Conte’s comments yesterday about Chelsea no longer being able to compete with the City and United financially, it does seem that the Premier League is headed for an era of domination by the Manchester clubs.
