David de Gea to be given £12million signing on fee if he signs for Madrid next summer

Manchester United could be about to hang on to their #1 goalkeeper for at least one more season, as according to the Daily Mirror, Real Madrid are prepared to hand the goalkeeper a huge £12million signing on fee if he hangs on until next summer before completing his move to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The 24-year old’s future has been up in the air for the last few months, with Louis van Gaal dropping the Spaniard as he thought he wasn’t in the right frame of mind.

This begs the question as to just how much football De Gea will play if he does stay at United this season. The rest of the squad will obviously have less faith in him as he’ll be leaving the club, and De Gea himself will obviously have his mind elsewhere.

At the end of the day, United should keep him for another year anyway, as it gives the United hierarchy plenty of time to find an adequate replacement for one of the best goalkeepers in world football.
