Crystal Palace have joined the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko following the departure of Yannick Bolasie yesterday.
Bolasie completed a £25million switch to Everton yesterday and manager Alan Pardew is planning to reinvest that money into his former club Newcastle for the services of Sissoko.
Real Madrid are also keen on taking the French midfielder to the Bernabeu this summer, but have yet to make a concrete offer for the 26-year old who is rated at a staggering £35million by the Championship club.
Pardew is hoping to use his contacts at St James’ Park in order to secure a deal for the midfielder, meanwhile Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez wants the deal done sooner rather than later.
We can’t wait until the end (of the window) so we have to be sure he is training well and he’s ready.
If somebody comes in with the right offer for us and for everybody, fine. If not he has to carry on. He is a professional and he has a contract.
Sissoko had an average season for Newcastle last season but transformed himself into one of the star performers of Euro 2016 this summer where he helped France get to the final.
The transfer window closes on 31st August.
