Crystal Palace agree sensational £31million transfer fee

FA Cup finalists Crystal Palace have agreed a £31million transfer fee with Ligue 1 club Marseille, over the signature of striker Michy Batshuayi.

The Belgian striker has been strongly linked with a move to West Ham United this summer, but Crystal Palace have taken an early lead in the race to sign the 22-year old.

The striker is currently on International duty with Belgium, where he scored in Sunday’s 4-0 last-16 victory over Hungary, just one minute after joining the action.

The striker scored 17 goals for the Marseille last season, attracting interest from both Juventus and West Ham United.

Crystal Palace co-owner was in Nice in Monday night to watch England’s 2-1 defeat to Iceland at Euro 2016, where he was able to thrash out a £31million deal, which includes a significant number of bonuses and a sell-on clause.

Crystal Palace are also closing in on a deal for Batshuayi’s Marseille teammate, Steve Mandanda, who could join the club on a free transfer, despite interest from Chelsea in the 31-year old goalkeeper.
