If he is not able to take his preferred shirt number, it has been claimed that he could take the number 14 shirt from the departing Javier Mascherano, a shirt made famous by Barcelona legend, Johann Cruyff.
Coutinho could wear either a number 7 or a number 14 shirt for Barça. The #14 is currently occupied by Mascherano, who is rumoured to be leaving the club this month. The number was also used by Johan Cruyff. [sport] pic.twitter.com/rgVBmsiLMf
