Chelsea slipped to a disappointing 0-0 draw in their Premier League fixture against Leicester today and Blues goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois voiced his unhappiness with his own fans when talking to the press afterwards.
Speaking to Sky Sports the 25-year-old said :
‘’It doesn’t help when the fans boo and whistle after each misplaced pass. We didn’t play well but that’s when we need the fans behind us.”
The Belgian internationals future has been the subject of intense speculation recently with Real Madrid said to be monitoring his contract situation closely, and the Spanish giants may well feel that comments like these suggest he may not be completely happy with life at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea were poor for large parts of todays game, and Leicester dominated proceddings at times. Even after the away side had Ben Chilwell sent off in the 66th minute, The Blues were unable push on and take all three points.
This was Antonio Conte sides’ third straight 0-0 draw, and they are clearly lacking confidence in front of goal with star striker Alvaro Morata in particular struggling to regain his superb early season form.
Chelsea face Norwich in a FA Cup third round replay on Wednesday, and will be hopeful they can get back to winning ways as soon as possible.
