As his move to Atletico Madrid edges closer to being completed, Diego Costa has spoken about his imminent departure from Chelsea.
Chelsea and Atletico announced that they had reached an agreement for the sale of Diego Costa, with a deal thought to be worth around £50m, withonly personal terms and a medical needing to be completed.
Now, after arriving in in the Spanish capital, Diego Costa has a message for the Stamford Bridge Faithful.
“It’s not the way I wanted to leave, ever. I have a special affection for the people at Chelsea.
“I’m not a person who is going to smear the image. They know the person I am.
“I wanted to return (to Atletico). I’m not going to be ungrateful to Chelsea, where I was also very happy, playing in a team that was great.
“Atletico is my home and I’m here.”
Costa, scored 59 goals in 120 appearances for the Blues, winning two Premier League titles in his three years at the club.
