Chelsea try to push through £50m January transfer

Chelsea are ready to push through the £50m transfer of Alex Sandro in order to beat off interest from Manchester United.

The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, with the player reportedly keen on completing a move to West London. However, the deal stalled as Juventus’ were reluctant not to sell the left back.

According to reports, Manchester United are also interested following the uncertainty surrounding Luke Shaw’s future, and have already made a move to sign the left back.

Now, the Daily Mirror claim that Chelsea are ready to push through a deal in order to land one of last summer’s main transfer targets.

Antonio Conte is desperate to strengthen his Chelsea squad which he believes has been underinvested in ahead of this season’s far busier fixture list in comparison to last season where they were able to win the Premier League title at a canter.

Chelsea are currently sitting in third place, two points behind second placed Manchester United going into tonight’s crucial top of the table clash against Arsenal.
