Chelsea to make an improved £25m bid

Chelsea are to submit an improved £25m bid for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

The Daily Telegraph claim that the reigning Champions will improve their offer for the midfielder as Antonio Conte looks to strengthen his squad.

Chelsea have already seen a bid of £15m rejected by the Foxes, and will return with an improved bid of around £25m.

Chelsea have been looking to strengthen the midfield department of the squad, and have already brought in Tiemoue Bakayoko. However, the departure of Nemanja Matic to Manchester has brought the need for more reinforcements.

Should Drinkwater move to Stamford Bridge, he would be reunited with former Leicester team mate N’Golo Kante with whom he had a sparkling partnership with during Leicester’s title winning campaign in 2015/16.

Drinkwater missed Leicester’s opening Premier League game against Arsenal through a slight injury.
