Chelsea star to sign new deal despite Real Madrid interest

Chelsea are confident that Eden Hazard will sign a bumper new contract at the club, despite interest from Real Madrid.

Real Madrid are known to be big admirers, with Zinedine Zidane publicly praising Hazard in recent years, with Hazard himself refusing to rule out a move to the Bernabeu earlier this summer. When asked about Real Madrid’s reported interest, Hazard responded:

“Of course, that’s all. We all dream. Of course, I would consider it if amadrid made an offer.”

However, according to The Sun, Chelsea are confident that Hazard will reject a potential move to the European champions to stay at Stamford Bridge. They claim that the potential new contract would see him become the Premier Leagues highest earner, on a contract worth a staggering £300,000-a-week, higher that Manchester United’s Paul Pogba.

Hazard has also been linked with a move to big spending French club Paris Saint-Germain. The 26-year-old has however gone on record to say that he will not be making a move to the Parc des Princes, with his former club Lille the only French side he would play for in the future.

Hazard has scored 72 goals in 253 appearances for Chelsea since his £32m move in 2012.
